Injuries Reported After Hit-and-Run

At least one person was injured following a hit-and-run crash at Highway 184 and Niles Street in Bakersfield.

According to the CHP group, the wreck happened on Sunday evening. Police logged the incident at about 6:35 p.m.

Authorities said a vehicle struck a female victim for an unknown reason and dragged her in Bakersfield. The driver hit her at the intersection of f Highway 184 and Niles Street.

Emergency crew soon arrived at the scene near the Hillcrest Memorial Park where they found the person left wounded in the roadway as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries she sustained in the crash. Officials did not disclose her name and condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help to the victim and fled the area. The cause of the Bakersfield hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.

Officers forced the intersection of Highway 184 and Niles Street to close following the collision. Authorities are still searching for the suspect.
