Collision on Highway 101 In Santa Maria

One person was injured in a suspected hit-and-run car accident that happened on Highway 101 near Alvin Avenue in Santa Maria.

According to reports, the crash involved a Honda Civic and Ford Focus. Preliminary investigation confirmed that the Civic was traveling southbound on the highway at approximately 5:15 a.m.

The crash began when the Civic approached the area near Alvin Avenue and saw headlights headed in his direction. The man driving the Civic could not avoid the oncoming vehicle and crashed into the Ford, which was traveling in the wrong direction.

When emergency crew arrived at the site, they rendered aid to all possible victims. The driver of the Civic was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment of minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the Ford fled the scene before police arrived.
