Man Fatally Struck by Ice Cream Truck
A San Marcos accident involving a bicyclist and ice cream truck resulted in a fatality on Wednesday evening.
Per authorities, the incident occurred just after 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of West Mission Road and Pico Avenue.
The 26-year-old male bicyclist was turning against a red light at the time of the crash.
At the same time, an ice cream truck, driven by a 63-year-old man, was turning with a green light.
The two collided and the male bicyclist sadly died at the scene.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of kin.
Police are actively working to piece together all the details of the accident.
