3 Dead in Anaheim Car Crash, After Hit-and-Run

Three men were killed and two women were hospitalized with serious injuries after a fiery car accident in Anaheim early Tuesday morning. A white Mercedes and a black Kia SUV collided around 2:45 a.m. near Brookhurst Street and Orange Avenue, according to Anaheim police. The crash also caused a small fire to start after debris flew hundreds of feet around the scene.

In video surveillance captured from a nearby parking lot, the Mercedes appeared to be speeding down Brookhurst Street when it crashed into the Kia, which was pulling out of the shopping center parking lot.

By the time the police arrived, the driver in the Mercedes had fled the scene, according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Shane Carringer. The Mercedes driver and her passenger were later found at an emergency room soon after.

Police are investigating whether speeding or alcohol were factors. No arrests have been made so far.
