Fatal Pedestrian Accident Reported in Hesperia, CA
29-year-old Emily Castaneda fell victim to a hit-and-run pedestrian crash in Hesperia Sunday, June 12th.
It was around 4 a.m. when the woman was hit by a vehicle on Cottonwood Avenue.
A good samaritan was trying to get the woman out of traffic lanes before she was hit, which resulted in him being hit as well.
Sadly, Castaneda was killed and pronounced dead at the scene.
Additionally, the 32-year-old man that assisted her suffered major injuries as a result and was hospitalized for treatment.
It was also reported that the involved driver fled the scene and was later located and ID’d as Katrina Hernandez, 37.
Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury and death.
The crash remains under investigation.
