1 Killed, 1 Critically Injured in Hesperia Crash at Bear Valley and Locust

A crash killed one person and critically injured another at Bear Valley Road and Locust Avenue in Hesperia.

According to an article published by Victor Valley News, the tragic accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 1:43 p.m.

The incident happened when a silver SUV was going east on Bear Valley Road, approaching Locust Avenue in Hesperia. For an unknown reason, a gold Buick LeSabre  made a turn against the red light.

In the process, the two cars t-boned each other in the intersection. The Buick obtained major passenger-side damage while the SUV ended up with major front-end damage.

Firefighters arrived and freed the female passenger trapped inside the LeSabre as a result of the collision. She soon died at the scene.

The elderly man driving the sedan survived the incident with critical injuries. A ground ambulance rushed him to the Desert Valley Hospital, where a helicopter flew him to a trauma center for treatment.

The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. The driver of the SUV did not sustain any wound following the wreck.

Meanwhile, police forced the area of Bear Valley and Locust  to shut down for a time after the collision. The cause of the fatal Hesperia crash is still under investigation.
