Fatal San Marcos Crash on South Santa Fe Avenue
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has ID’d Juan Jose Garcia as the man who was killed on Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision.
Per reports, the crash took place on January 9th at 4:10 p.m. on South Santa Fe Avenue.
Garcia was driving a Toyota minivan when he collided head-on with a Scion sedan. At this time it is unclear what led to the collision.
Paramedics rushed Garcia to Palomar Medical Center, where he unfortunately died as the result of his injuries.
There were also four other involved persons who were taken to the same hospital as well as Rady Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators are actively working to determine liability.
