Father of 4 Killed in a Hit and Run Accident in Pomona
Pomona, California- Gilberto Cazare, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene of a taco stand, Friday night.
A car traveling east on Holt Avenue swerved across the westbound lanes and crashed into the taco stand outside Cardenas market, killing one and leaving 12 others injured.
Cazare was pronounced dead at the scene while 10 others were transported to the hospital.
Victims’ names were not released and it is unknown how many of the victims were customers or vendors.
The police identified the driver of the car as 26 year old, Zumana Martinez from Pomona. She was placed in custody Saturday morning with charges for vehicular manslaughter, and hit and run.
Martinez had initially fled the scene and turned herself in a few hours later.
Flowers and candles were left at the scene of the crash.
