Male Pedestrian Killed in Sacramento County 

A Mazda sedan hit and killed Johnnie Lee Fechner, 67, in Florin, CA on Thursday evening. 

The incident took place on January 13th at the intersection of Gerber and Power Inn roads.

CHP reported that the crash occurred just before 6 p.m.

It is unclear; however, what caused the accident. 

Sadly, paramedics declared Fechner dead at the scene when they arrived. 

It is also unclear if the involved driver stopped and cooperated with authorities. 

Additionally, authorities shut down the intersection for a period of time following the crash for cleanup and investigation purposes. 

The crash remains under investigation.
