Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Herndon Avenue 

An unidentified woman was struck by a vehicle and killed on Thursday morning, November 11th. 

The incident occurred at 5:45 a.m. on Herndon Avenue, west of Milburn Avenue. 

According to reports, the involved driver told police they did not see the woman until it was too late. 

911 was called and paramedics arrived to find the woman lying deceased in the roadway. 

In addition, the westbound side of Herndon was shut down for several hours,. 

The name of the deceased will be made public once notification of kin. 

According to statistics, there was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.

In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.

  • Avoid distractions (use of headphones, cell phone) 
  • Obey traffic laws & signals
  • Always use crosswalk
