Felipe Balero, 40, Killed in Fatal Fresno Hit-and-Run

Felipe Balero, 40, was killed after being struck by a vehicle no Shields Avenue in Fresno.

The fatal hit-and-run collision happened just before midnight between Channing Way and West Avenue, according to the Fresno Police Department.

The homeless man was walking along the road while carrying several items, reports mentioned. Police believe that a total of four vehicles struck the man in the roadway. The first three eastbound vehicles failed to stop, however, the final driver in the fourth vehicle stopped and called 911 for help.

Meanwhile, paramedics responded and Felipe Balero was pronounced dead at the scene. The Fresno County Sheriff Coroner identified the victim. Witnesses told authorities that a driver of a white truck who struck the victim slowed down initially, but eventually kept driving and fled the scene.

Also, the deadly pedestrian accident on Shields Avenue remains under investigation by the Fresno Police Department.
