56-Year-Old Woman Hit & Killed in Carlsbad 

Felicita Vazquez, 56, was hit by a vehicle last Wednesday and pronounced dead 3 days later on April 17th.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Melrose Drive and South Rancho Santa Fe Road on April 14th.

Vazquez was crossing at the intersection around 5 a.m. and struck by a Chevrolet truck. 

The woman was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment. 

Police issued a closure of the southbound lanes of Rancho Santa Fe Road following the accident. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
