Deadly Traffic Accident Reported on Highway 1 in Santa Barbara County
Two vehicles collided head-on in Santa Barbara County last Thursday, killing Faysal Hekmat, 33.
It was around 7:40 a.m. when the accident occurred on Highway 1 near Vandenberg Space Force Base.
Hekmat, of Santa Maria, was riding a motorcycle when it collided with an SUV.
The SUV was reportedly traveling north when it crossed into southbound lanes, causing the crash.
Upon impact, the rider was ejected and hit by another vehicle. He sadly died at the scene.
There were also two other vehicles that were damaged as a result of the crash due to debris.
Additionally, the SUV driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
