One Dead Following Wrong-Way Collision
Two vehicles collided in San Diego on Sunday evening, resulting in the death of one unidentified person.
The deadly collision occurred on January 9th at 7:10 p.m., on the I-5 Freeway.
Per reports, one vehicle was traveling the wrong way before colliding with another vehicle near the 8 Freeway connector.
As a result, one person sadly died upon impact.
Investigators are actively working to piece together all the details regarding the accident.

Although crashes involving wrong-way driving account for only 3% of motor vehicle accidents, they usually have a higher fatality rate as they are often head-on collisions. A study in Virginia concluded that those accidents which include wrong-way driving are twenty-seven times more likely to end in a fatality compared to other types of accidents.
