DUI Multi-Vehicle Accident on N Palm Canyon Drive 

Multiple vehicles collided in Palm Springs on Monday evening, resulting in the death of Leon Reynoso, 36.

The fatal crash occurred at 5:06 p.m. on N Palm Canyon Drive at Alejo Road. 

It was reported that at least four vehicles were involved in the accident. 

It is unclear at this time, however, what led up to the collision. 

Sadly, Reynoso was pronounced dead at 5:33 p.m. 

There were also injuries reported by at least seven other people and one was hospitalized with major injuries. 

In addition, authorities also arrested one unidentified person on suspicion of DUI. 

An active investigation is underway to determine liability. 

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
