Man Killed in Apple Valley on October 12th 

According to CHP, the traffic accident took place around 2:49 a.m. on the southbound 15 freeway. 

It was reported that a 28-year-old man was speeding in a Nissan when he lost control causing his vehicle to overturn. 

As a result, a Toyota struck the Nissan thus causing the Nissan to be pushed into an Infiniti’s path. 

Due to the impact, the driver of the Nissan was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. 

Both drivers of the Toyota and Infiniti sustained injuries, however it was only the driver of the Infiniti that was transported to a hospital. 

Neither drugs or alcohol were considered to be factors in the collision.

The name of the deceased will be made public once notification of kin. 

According to the NHTSA, speeding was a contributing factor in 26% of traffic accidents that resulted in death(s) in 2018. The dangers of speeding include: 

• Loss of control of vehicle 
• Increase in crash severity 
• Increase in fuel consumption and/or cost 
• Reduces the effectiveness of protection equipment
