Person Killed on Highway 86
One person died as the result of a two-vehicle collision in Imperial County Wednesday evening.
Per CHP, the accident took place around 5 p.m. on Highway 86 and Carey Road.
A vehicle reportedly crashed into a tractor for unknown reasons on June 1st.
Due to the impact, the car became engulfed in flames.
Unfortunately, the driver died at the scene.
Investigators are actively working to determine fault.
In 2020, studies showed that the state of California reported 3,723 motor-vehicle deaths which was an increase from 2019.
