Fatal Fletcher Parkway Pedestrian Accident in El Cajon

A fatal pedestrian accident happened Tuesday night in front of 724 Fletcher Parkway in El Cajon.

The collision occurred about 6:50 p.m. on Dec. 6th, just west of Johnson Avenue.

A driver in a 2014 Kia Optima struck an 89-year-old man in the roadway due to unknown circumstances, according to 619 News Media.

Police Officers and paramedics responded to the scene where they located the elderly man unconscious in the roadway.

Paramedics transported the injured man to Scripps Mercy Hospital. Sadly, he died shortly afterwards at the hospital. The identity of the pedestrian is unknown at this time, but will be released after authorities notify relatives.

Meanwhile, the driver of the 2014 Kia Optima stopped and cooperated with the investigation.

Authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs are a factor in the collision.
