Fatal DUI Crash Leaves 2 Dead in Oakdale, CA

Two people were killed in a head-on collision Tuesday night. The fatal crash that killed one man and one woman was reportedly the cause of drunk driving.

Around 7 p.m. the accident took place just east of Oakdale at Orange Blossom and Lancaster roads. Authorities reported that a Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Jesus Perez, 23, of Oakdale was allegedly drifting in and out of opposing traffic. Perez then crashed into a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe SUV.

Both people in the Chevrolet Tahoe died. The victims were a 78-year-old man and a 76-year-old woman. When authorities and paramedics arrived at the crash, both victims were pronounced dead. The victim’s names have not been released.

Meanwhile, Perez and one of his passengers sustained major injuries. Police suspect that Perez was under the influence of alcohol. Drugs have not been ruled out as a factor. He was arrested on the suspicion of DUI.
