One Dead in Crash on Wildcat Canyon Road

A fatal crash happened Sunday afternoon on Wildcat Canyon Road when a vehicle went off the roadway and caught on fire near the Barona Resort and Casino.

The crash occurred at 4:29 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4th at 12071 Wildcat Canyon Road between Muth Valley Road and Oak Oasis Road, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol. A gray Honda reportedly went off the roadway due to unknown circumstances.

The occupants of the vehicle managed to get out of the flaming vehicle, but one person died in the crash, the CHP said.

Meanwhile, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office responded due to one person who died at the scene.

The coroner will release the identity of the person who died after next of kin are notified.
