Fatal 3-Vehicle Collision Claims the Life of Daniel Bedolla and Leaves Others Injured

A traffic collision involving three vehicles took place early Friday morning, August 6th, in Porterville, CA.

The collision happened just minutes after 3:00 a.m. on Highway 65 near Henderson Ave.

According to CHP, the tire failure of a box truck heading southbound caused it to slam into a guard rail. The truck, after coming to rest in oncoming traffic, was hit by a GMC and Honda.

By the time first responders arrived, the driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been ID’d as 21-year-old Daniel Bedolla.

Additionally, Bedolla’s 23-year-old passenger was transported to Kaweah Health Medical Center with major injuries. The driver of the GMC was also 23-years-old and was airlifted to the same hospital.

As a result, southbound lanes between Henderson and Olive Avenues on Highway 65 were closed while oil spilled from the truck was cleaned.

Overall, the accident remains under investigation.
