Fatal San Diego Pedestrian Reported on Sunday Morning 

26-year-old Emmanuel Elizalde was killed in a pedestrian accident on Sunday morning, July 24th. 

The incident took place in San Diego on State Route 94 for unknown reasons. 

Elizalde exited his vehicle that was parked between the shoulder and left lane and was struck by an oncoming motorist that attempted to avoid him.

Sadly, despite life-saving efforts, the man died at the scene. 

The crash remains under investigation.

There was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.

In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.
