Truck Crashed Into Tree, Injures 4

A vehicle occupied by four women hit a tree in El Dorado County, resulting in moderate to major injuries.

The crash took place on Wednesday morning at 11:46 a.m. on February 2nd.

According to CHP, a 911 caller called to report the accident on Green Valley Road at Missouri Flat Road.

Upon impact, the vehicle overturned and ended up upside down.

Four women identified as Chloe Middleman, Kayla Waldo, Yesenia Hernandez, and Virginia Valenuela were rushed to Marshall Medical Center.

It is unclear at this time if other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.

Studies show that about 20% of motor vehicle fatalities are caused by a vehicle veering off the roadway and hitting a fixed object. Among these fixed objects, trees, traffic barriers, and utility poles are most common. Approximately half of these types of accidents occur at night time. Another interesting fact is that in 2019, studies found that a majority of these deaths took place from July to September.
