Man Hit by Vehicle, Thrown onto San Diego River
Efrain Moreno Temores, a 44-year-old male, suffered fatal injuries following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Interstate 805 Freeway.
The FOX5 News reported Temores was initially seen running in the northbound side of the freeway overpass. Shortly after 4:48 a.m., police received reports of a man struck by a vehicle near Camino Del Rio North.
When emergency crews arrived at the site, they found the victim unresponsive in the riverbed below the overpass. Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian attempted to cross the freeway, while in the middle of the road, a passing car hit the man. The force from the impact ejected the man onto the San Diego River.
Rescue teams found the victim unresponsive in the riverbed below the overpass. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the pedestrian sadly succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the identity of the deceased as Efrain Moreno Temores.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver involved in the catastrophic incident.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the crash that happened on Interstate 805 in San Diego.
