Woman ID’d in Fatal E-Bike Carlsbad Crash 

Investigators are actively working to determine the cause of a fatal e-bike crash that occurred in Carlsbad on Sunday. 

It was at about 5:45 pm. when a Toyota 4Runner struck Christine Embree, 35, on an e-bike. 

The incident took place on August 7th at the intersection of Basswood Avenue and Valley Street.

Embree was also carrying her 16-month-old daughter at the time of the accident; however, the child was not injured.

Unfortunately, Embree died at the hospital that day. 

The involved female driver stayed at the scene and was fully cooperative with authorities.
