Dump Truck Crashes into Apartment and Kills Rory Antoine

A loaded dump truck crashed into an apartment building in Anaheim, killing 61-year-old Rory Antoine. 

The fatal accident took place Tuesday afternoon on August 24th at about 12:45 p.m. 

According to CHP, the truck slid down the off-ramp to State Route 57 and uncontrollably drove across the road. 

This resulted in the semi crashing through a carport wall along with an apartment building. It ultimately pushed one of the residents, Antoine, into another apartment building. 

Antoine was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene and the unidentified truck driver was taken to UCI medical center. He sustained minor to moderate injuries.

An investigation is ongoing to determine what led to the tragic crash. 

Fatalities involving large trucks are frequent due to the weight and stopping distances of these trucks. 

Large truck crashes often result in much more severe damage and injuries for obvious reasons.
