CA Patrol Officer Hospitalized After a Man Bit Him After He Crashed His Car

CHP Officer Jake Sanchez said the 35-year-old driver from Chula Vista became argumentative. CHP officers arrived to the crash site at Interstate 5 near the Main Street exit around 1 p.m. According to investigators, the confrontation escalated when the driver became violent and he then reached for gun of the officer and bit one of the officers on the arm.

The driver was arrested for assault on a peace officer causing injury and the suspicion of a driving under the influence.
