Deadly Tulare County Accident on Road 144
A suspected DUI collision left one man dead in Tulare County on Thursday evening.
Per CHP, the accident occurred on April 7th on Road 144.
An unidentified 41-year-old man was traveling south before veering into oncoming traffic.
As a result, his vehicle collided with a northbound Honda.
Police took the man into custody on suspicion of DUI and also transported him to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment.
Sadly, he died at the hospital due to his injuries.
In addition, the Honda driver, 67, suffered moderate injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
