According to reports, the accident occurred on October 4th around 5:50 p.m. just south of Seaward Avenue.

A 35-year-old man was driving southbound in his Jeep Wrangler when he swerved to pass traffic.

The CHP officer saw the man approaching from behind and flashed his lights to warn him, but he ended up rear-ending the officer.
