Drunk Driver Crashes into Home, Injuring 4 People

Four people were injured after a drunk driver plowed into a home in the early hours of Wednesday, September 14th.

It was around 12:30 a.m. when the driver approached the intersection of Old River Road and Taft Highway.

The driver then drifted off the road and crashed into a home.

Princedeep and Rajwinder Joshan, both 25, sustained injuries as a result. 61-year-old Balwinder Joshan along with a 21-month-old boy also were injured in the accident.

The little boy sustained a broken arm and fractured skull.

Police arrested the driver on DUI charges and he was booked into Kern County Jail.

The crash remains under investigation.

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.

If your injuries are caused by the negligence of a third party you may be entitled to compensation.

It is also important to remember that in the state of California a person involved in a car accident who has sustained injuries has to file a claim within two years of the accident.
