Driver Killed Following a Traffic Accident in Bakersfield, CA

One person died, and one other sustained major injuries after a crash that happened in the area of Taft Highway and Old River Road.

According to reports, a pickup truck with two occupants was traveling northbound on Old River Road. The female driver allowed the truck to veer onto Taft Highway. The passenger car crashed into a semi truck at Bakersfield intersection.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene to find the female driver unconscious. Despite all life-saving efforts, the driver died. Meanwhile, the passenger sustained major injuries and was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
