1 Injured in Apple Valley near Mockingbird Avenue

One person was taken to a hospital with major injuries after a traffic collision that occurred on Sunday evening in Apple Valley.

According to the authorities, the collision happened in the area of Rock Springs Road and Mockingbird Avenue at about 6:14 p.m. on November 6.

Authorities said a red 2008 Ford Ranger drifted into the path of oncoming traffic for unspecified reasons and collided with an oncoming red Toyota Corolla.

The impact caused the Toyota to roll onto its roof.

The man driving the Toyota was flown to an out-of-area trauma center with critical injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Authorities blocked Rock Springs Road as they examined and cleared the scene.

Further details on the collision were not immediately released.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
