Pedestrian Male Killed in Los Angeles Crash
Three dogs and their walker were fatally struck by an impaired driver in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 29th.
The LAPD reported that the incident took place around 12:20 a.m. in downtown at 5th and Hill Street.
Per reports, the man was within a marked crosswalk when hit by a northbound driver in a pickup truck.
Sadly, the man was killed and so were his 3 dogs.
At least 6 other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Police arrested the suspect on DUI, hit-and-run, and manslaughter charges.
The crash remains under investigation.
According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
