Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision on Paradise Road and Vernon Avenue 

A 34-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Modesto on Wednesday evening. 

The accident took place at 7:30 p.m. on February 16th at the intersection of Paradise Road and Vernon Avenue. 

Per CHP, the involved driver drove in front of the off-road Honda motorcycle, making it impossible for the bike rider to avoid. 

The rider crashed into the right side of the vehicle, causing fatal injuries. He sadly died just before 8 p.m. at the scene. 

It was also reported that the involved driver fled the scene without stopping to help the injured. 

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of kin. 

Hit-and-run collisions account for almost 6 deaths per day and there is at least one per minute in the U.S.
