Head-On Crash Leaves One Dead in Lakeside
56-year-old Savaii Seau was killed in a head-on collision in Lakeside on Tuesday afternoon.
The fatal accident occurred on February 2nd on Los Coches Road at about 2:10 p.m.
According to CHP, Seau was traveling north in an Audi A6 before veering into opposing traffic.
As a result, his vehicle hit a Helix Water District dump truck head on within the southbound lanes.
Seau suffered serious injuries and was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego where he was sadly pronounced dead an hour later.
Reports also showed that Seau was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
In addition, the 42-year-old female passenger in the Audi and 60-year-old San Diego male truck driver sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Savaii Seau worked as a P.E. teacher at Warren-Walker School and was also the older brother of Junior Seau, a USC and San Diego Chargers legend.
