5 Children Injured in Collision in Antioch, CA

On the morning of July 29th, five children sustained injuries following a two-car collision. The crash took place on Highway 4 in Antioch, CA.

Just west of Hillcrest Avenue, a Toyota Camry which had the children in it collided with a van for reasons unknown. The collision took place just minutes after the 7 o’clock morning hour.

When firefighters arrived at the scene they had to extricate the female driver of the Camry. They also requested an air ambulance for a two-year-old who suffered a broken bone.

The female adult driver and 4 of the children sustained minor to major injuries and were transported to the hospital via ground.

The driver of the van sustained no injuries.

A SigAlert was active for about 20 minutes due to the closure of all eastbound lanes giving the  helicopter time to land and  CHP time to investigate.

The accident is still under investigation.
