Deadly Traffic Accident on State Route 20
A Mini Cooper, Toyota Tacoma, and Ford Explorer were involved in a fatal collision on Monday morning, March 28th.
CHP reported that the accident took place just before 5:30 p.m. on State Route 20.
Rafael Esquivel, 60, was driving east in the Mini Cooper before losing control and swerving into oncoming traffic.
As a result, his vehicle collided with a Toyota Tacoma, driven by Micahel Schmuckley, 66.
Upon impact, the Mini Cooper then spun out of control and collided with a Ford Explorer.
The Ford driver, ID’d as Kurt Jensen, 49, suffered moderate injuries.
Sadly, the passenger in the Mini Cooper, Cleotide Rodrguez-Delgado, suffered major injuries and died at a hospital later on.
Delgado was 49-years-old and a resident of Ukiah, California.
Additionally, the Schmuckley did not suffer any injuries.
Investigators are actively working to determine the cause of the accident.
