Person Killed after Rear-Ending Another Vehicle in Modesto

25-year-old Clavey Carlson died as the result of rear-ending another vehicle on Tuesday night.

The fatal collision took place on McHenry Avenue on September 7th around 9:10 p.m.

According to reports, Carlson was driving his Subaru southbound when he struck the back of a trailer, which was being pulled by a van.

As a result, the trailer broke free from the van and the van continued in a southwest direction prior to overturning.

In addition, the Subaru veered off the roadway and also crashed into a power pole. The impact was so strong causing the pole to be sheared off at the base.

Carlson was rushed to Doctors Medical Center where he unfortunately died due to his injuries.

The other party involved has been ID’d as 43-year-old Damien McGee. McGee sustained only minor injuries.

Police are actively investigating to determine what caused the collision.

According to the NHTSA, nearly 2.5 million rear-end collisions are reported each year in the U.S. More specifically, they are responsible for 28% of all crashes.

In addition, rear-end collisions account for 950,000 injuries and 2,000 deaths each year.

These types of crashes are often the result of distracted and reckless driving.

JT Legal Group sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Clavey Carlson.
