Chula Vista DUI Injures 3 People

Three people sustained injuries following a DUI collision on Wednesday night, September 1st in Chula Vista.

The collision took place at about 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and G Street.

According to authorities, an unidentified woman ran a red light and collided with another vehicle at the intersection.

Following that collision, the woman continued and collided with a bar/cocktail lounge known as The Manhattan. This was on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Two people at The Manhattan along with the driver of the second vehicle were treated for minor injuries.

The unidentified woman argued with bystanders after exiting her car and was eventually arrested on a DUI charge.

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
