Motorcycle Officer Crash in Fresno County

A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer on a Harley-Davidson suffered major injuries after a crash Wednesday morning in Fresno County, according to the CHP. The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. near Ashlan and McCall avenues.

A farm tractor was traveling east on Ashlan when the motorcycle officer, also headed east, collided into the rear of the tractor. The officer was ejected from the motorcycle on impact and had to be taken to Community Regional Medical Center after suffering serious injuries.

According to CHP spokesman Mike Salas, the driver of the tractor was parked on the shoulder of the roadway pulling an agricultural spray rig, when he suddenly entered the eastbound lane of Ashlan, just ahead of the motorcycle officer.
