Teens Identified in Fatal DUI Collision 

Two teens were killed as the result of a rear-end collision on December 18th in Chatsworth. 

According to authorities, the fatal accident occurred on Lassen Street near Oakdale due to an impaired driver. 

A 20-year-old woman reportedly rear-ended the vehicle occupied by Arjit, 14, and Akshata Chettupalli, 16. 

Unfortunately, the two teens died at the scene of the crash. 

Authorities also arrested the 20-year-old woman on suspicion of DUI. 

The accident remains under investigation.

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
