Chain-Reaction Crash on 170 Freeway
A multi-vehicle collision occurred in Sun Valley on Tuesday morning, August 31st on the 170 Freeway near Roscoe Boulevard.
Numerous people sustained injuries in the crash that occurred at 5:30 a.m. The crash involved anywhere from 8 to 10 vehicles on the northbound side of the freeway.
According to CHP, a white Nissan SUV started the chain-reaction crash then continued on Branford Street and Arleta Avenue to collide with additional vehicles.

Additionally, tow trucks arrived to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
The northbound lanes of the freeway between Roscoe Boulevard and Sheldon Street were shut down for a period of time following the collision.

Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.
When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
