Carmen Teves, 48; and Nora Banayo, 67, Killed in PCH Crash Near Mugu Rock
Carmen Teves and Nora Banayo were killed after a crash on PCH near Mugu Rock.
The coroner’s office identified the two women as two of the four victims in the fatal collision on November 6.
The incident happened when Carmen Teves, Nora Banayo, another woman and a man were riding a 2011 Toyota SUV south on PCH north of Mugu Rock.
At the same time, a 2020 Subaru sedan was going north. For an unknown reason, the Subaru veered across the center median on the Pacific Coast Highway.
The sedan then struck the Toyota head-on in the Point Mugu area and both cars burst into flames as a result of the wreck.
The accident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. Firefighters rescued the four trapped occupants of the SUV and the driver of the Subaru from the wreckage.
Carmen Teves, 48; and Nora Banayo, 67, died at the scene of the crash. Teves was from North York, Canada; and Banayo was from Brampton, Canada,
Paramedics pronounced the other two victims in the Toyota and the second motorist, 27-year-old Los Angeles resident Kevin Sanic, dead.
Meanwhile, the cause of the PCH crash is still under investigation.
