Deadly Accident on Woodrow Avenue

Multiple vehicles collided Monday evening in Oildale, leaving one man dead.

The wreck took place on June 6th just before 5:30 p.m. on Woodrow Avenue.

Jerry Wayne Criss, 21, was driving a car before it collided with several vehicles.

As a result, his car then slammed into a fence.

It is unclear at this time what led to the accident.

Criss’s vehicle became engulfed in flames due to the impact and the Bakersfield man sadly died at the scene.

There was also a passenger who suffered major injuries and was hospitalized for treatment.

CHP is actively investigating the crash.

JT Legal Group sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jerry Criss.

Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.

When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
