Major Injuries Reported Following Tuolumne County Accident
CHP reported a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 108 in Tuolumne County on Saturday morning, July 16th.
It was around 8 a.m. when the crash occurred just east of Cofill Road.
The driver of a stolen Ford F350 pickup truck was reportedly driving west when it sped up as officers chased him.
The suspect, Joshua Kohl, crossed over the double yellow lines, causing a head-on collision with a Chevrolet Silverado.
Following that crash, the pickup truck then collided with a Chevrolet Sonic. This caused the truck to strike the embankment and crash into a Subaru Outback.
Both the driver and the passenger of the Chevrolet Silverado, ID’d as Earlene Keller, 80, of Sonora, suffered major injuries.
First responders airlifted both to Doctors Medical Center and Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
Kohl also suffered minor injuries and was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail after treatment.
He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, passing over a divided highway, possession of a stolen vehicle, and causing bodily injuries.
An active investigation remains underway.

- Call 911 to report accident – they determine who was at fault
