Deadly Highway 99 Traffic Accident
Two vehicles collided in Butte County on Monday afternoon, resulting in a rollover on September 5th.
Reports included that the accident took place at about 12:20 p.m. on Highway 99.
Two people suffered major injuries and were transported to Enloe Medical Center for treatment. There were also two others that were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
Unfortunately, one person was killed as a result. Their identity is being withheld pending notification of kin.
Investigators are actively working to determine the cause of the accident.
Statistics show that rollover accidents account for about one-third of all fatalities in the U.S. In addition, 30% of vehicle fatalities are rollover crashes. These types of accidents are far more likely to result in a fatality than non-rollover crashes.
