16-Year-Old Dies near Boulder Highway 

Las Vegas Police are investigating a fatal crash between a bus and scooter rider on Tuesday night. 

The incident occurred just after 10 p.m. near Boulder Highway and Indios Avenue. 

According to authorities, the bus was driving in the bus lane when it hit the 16-year-old scooter rider. 

The juvenile was reportedly passing traffic at the red light and failed to stop, resulting in being hit by the bus. 

Sadly, the rider died at the scene. 

The name of the boy will be released once notification of kin. 

According to statistics, scooter accidents rose by 222% between 2014 and 2018. In addition, 1 in 3 people involved in a scooter accident sustain serious injuries. 

Only 4% of scooter riders have reported wearing helmets.
