Multi-Vehicle Crash Results in Injuries on 5 Freeway

Multiple vehicles collided in Burbank on Sunday night which left several people injured.

The accident took place on May 8th around 10:20 p.m. within the southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway.

A total of six vehicles were involved in the crash.

It is unclear at this time, however, what caused the accident.

Per CHP, eight people suffered injuries, some of which were major, due to the impact.

Authorities also issued a SigAlert for about an hour due to the closure of the 5 Freeway near W Alameda Avenue.

Further details will be provided once an investigation is concluded.

Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.

When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
