Big Rig Rollover Seriously Injures One in Lodi, CA

A Tuesday night collision involving a big rig left one person with serious injuries on Tuesday evening. 

The crash took place at about 10:10 p.m. on the northbound 5 freeway, just south of Highway 12’s off-ramp. 

According to reports, a silver Honda cut off the semi, thus causing it to go off the roadway. 

As a result, the big rig overturned on its side which led to the driver being trapped inside. 

Paramedics along with firefighters responded to the scene. 

In addition, witnesses were able to tell authorities what caused the semi to rollover. 

Authorities are actively investigating the accident. No names have been disclosed. 

Statistics show that rollover accidents account for about one-third of all fatalities in the U.S. In  addition, 30% of vehicle fatalities are rollover crashes. These types of accidents are far more likely to result in a fatality than non-rollover crashes.
