Big Rig Overturned As Result of Collision With Another Vehicle in Colton, CA.

The crash took place on the morning of August 20th at about 8:25 a.m. near Washington Street.

Due to the semi being overturned, Nos. 1, 2 & 3 as well as the HOV lane of the 215 Freeway were blocked.

According to witness reports, a car cut off the semi truck, thus causing it to collide with two vehicles. One of which was a 2019 blue Toyota Corolla.

It is unknown whether or not the vehicle that cut off the truck was involved in the collision or if it stopped at the scene.

Additionally, the driver of the semi was injured but no other injuries of other parties have been reported.

Investigators are actively investigating the crash.

A heavy-duty tow truck also arrived at the scene to remove the semi that was loaded with 36,000 pounds of items.

Police also issued a SigAlert for about two hours following the crash.

Statistics show that rollover accidents account for about one-third of all fatalities in the U.S. In  addition, 30% of vehicle fatalities are rollover crashes. These types of accidents are far more likely to result in a fatality than non-rollover crashes.
